Youth in Focus is a non-profit that strives to use photography as a means of supporting underserved youth who face the challenges of racism, poverty, and other discrimination. Based out of Seattle, Washington, Youth in Focus sees photography as a means through which kids can express their individual voices and tell their own stories. They provide a creative arts experience designed to support youth on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. This program serves to give underserved youth a community in which they feel a sense of belonging and safety. Youth in Focus also strives to foster positive connections between youth and adult artists and mentors.
Throughout his life, Chip Hooper mentored many young people professionally, artistically, and personally. He was passionate about helping others reach their full potentials. Because of this and its focus on helping young people follow their passions, The Chip Hooper Foundation is excited to support Youth in Focus and its goal of promoting youth creativity, passion for photography, and mentorship between adult artists and young people in the program.
